NAIDOC celebrations

NAIDOC celebrations will be held at our school August 1. A wide range of activities will cater for not only the whole school but students from surrounding primary schools.

As a school with 27% indigenous population NAIDOC celebrations are a highlight on the calendar. As a community it is vital to recognise and celebrate the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history. A respect and pride in the nation’s first peoples helps us all to connect together and appreciate the uniqueness and similarities amongst all our members.

Officially NAIDOC week falls in our school holidays, we will be celebrating in third term. Students will participate in art, drama, dance, craft and storytelling activities throughout the day. Schools in the area are invited to bring students to participate in the day.
